Piece 1: Diary styled piece
This story is written in a diary-style format. It portrays a 15-year-old girl who struggles to understand her mother’s way towards her. This causes her to experience many forms of mental and physical problems from the negligence she received during her childhood, and in the present writing.
My inspiration for this piece was the Diary of Anne Frank, who was also 15 years of age at the time of her writing, and expressed troubles with her family not understanding her, which led to a very solitary life of writing to her imaginary friend, Kitty.
Piece 2: Emotive styled piece
A short but powerful piece, used to describe the mind of depression and insecurity in a young person.
Piece 3: Daniel’s story – a re-look on emotional neglect
This short story was written to portray toxic family dynamics in a way that gives this complicated topic awareness. The story takes place with Daniel, a young boy who struggles to please his father, who never gives him the time of day.
